Overview:

As humans, we have an intrinsic need to come together with like-minded people to make sense of our lives. We look to others and to the great wisdom teachings to help us navigate the challenges, joys, and opportunities that Life presents. As John Donne so poignantly pointed out, none of us is an island separated from the main. We are all part of something greater, connected to our brothers and our sisters, connected to the great diversity of life, and connected to the Divine energy out of which all of this has been birthed.

The traditional religious interpretations that gave people solace for so many years and pointed the way to spiritual growth have lost their power for many of us. New forms of spiritual expression, ( “the religion of no religion” as expressed by Michael Murphy, founder of the Esalen Institute and the human potential movement), have begun to take shape in the minds and hearts of many.

  • * A large number of people in western society today consider themselves to be spiritual but not religious.
  • * Eastern spiritualities and mystical teachings of Christianity and Judaism have begun to permeate the larger culture.
  • * Some people find themselves incorporating elements of these teachings into their spiritual identity, pushing the limits of their religion of birth.
  • * Others have been wounded by their experiences of traditional religious organizations and have a need to recognize and heal these wounds.
  • * Some continue to find a home within a traditional religion, either the one they were born into, or one they have adopted.
  • * At the same time, many who identify themselves as spiritual are no longer at home in one of the traditional religions, and continue to look for inspiration and insight by integrating a wide variety of ancient and modern disciplines.

No matter where you fall, there remains a hunger to be with like-minded spiritual companions, to learn from wise teachers, to fully embody life, to have meaningful relationships, and to make a positive difference in the world. Finding authentic ways to connect with the mystery of life, and to join with others in authentic community is a vital yearning that calls to so many of us.

The One Spirit Integrative Fellowship, built upon the great teachings both ancient and modern, incorporates a wide-variety of practices relevant to contemporary life, seeks to offer new forms of spiritual gathering, and to offer new responses to this deep need. Join us to create the future together.
